One of the main reasons the pilgrims came to America was to have religious freedom. The king of England had established a state religion, The Church of England, and they were unable to worship God freely and in their own way. It is no wonder that when the United States was established that the first amendment to the constitution provided for the freedom of religion.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”
Unfortuately the rights of Christians have slowly been eroded as the state has sought to strip Christians of various rights. It started with the right to pray. The U. S. Supreme Court issued two bans. One in 1962 and the second in 1963. Both bans were the result of lawsuits against the teaching of religion and religious practices in public schools. Basically stating that organized prayer in schools was a violation of the “separation of church and state” It was decided that publicly funded schools were an extension of the state, and that organized prayer or Bible readings were a form of proselytizing. The bans not only banned mandatory prayer in schools but also banned the daily reading of bible passages. Unfortuately the courts did not understand that the “separation of church and state” is not in the constitution and that its real meaning is that the state was not allowed to establish a state religion. Since the time of this court ruling the state has been establishing a state religion, one called “Secular Humanism”. Most recently schools, courts and city councils have been favoring another state sponsored religion, Islam.
Certainly, Islam is welcomed into American society and Muslims are allowed to establish places of worship but the state has moved well beyond this to where Islam has more rights than Christians in our schools, businesses and in our society. Islamic Sharia Law directly contradicts many of our Laws and directly contradicts the 26 amendments to the constitution. Islamic prejudice and injustice against women, Jews and others is not healthy for our society. The idea that there can be a separatist Islamic community operating with its own Laws and Governance violates all State end Federal Laws and Constitutions.
Nehemiah Reset seeks to inform the church where the state is violating our religious freedom and where preference is given to certain religions and where others are punished. Christians and Jews can no longer sit by and watch as many of our religious freedoms are taken away.
