Greetings from Focus on the Family! I hope you and your loved ones are enjoying a wonderful fall. With the holiday season right around the corner, it is a good time to gratefully reflect on another year of outreach. You’ll be uplifted to hear about some of the ways you’ve helped families worldwide thrive in Christ.

The cornerstone of any flourishing family is a healthy marriage, and your efforts to come alongside husbands and wives remain vital. Every day hurting couples reach out for counsel and advice, and we’re thankful you help provide resources that can place a marriage in distress back on solid ground.

Here’s what one woman had to say about your endeavors:

I started listening to Focus on the Family about 30 years ago and found the ministry so helpful for my marriage and raising our two sons. Initially, my husband wasn’t a Christian and your ministry helped me show my husband Christ’s love. I listened to Focus regularly during those years and Focus helped me know how to live with an unbelieving husband and raise our sons in a godly way. After many years of prayer and utilizing the tools that Focus gave me, my husband became a believer. I doubt that we would still be married over 45 years if I hadn’t utilized all the tools that Focus gave me. Now Focus helps me be a better wife, mother to our sons, and grandmother to our grandchildren. So, I want to thank you for your wonderful ministry! –Debra, California

Parenting, of course, is another facet of your ministry that remains front and center. The troubling state of our culture makes godly parenting indispensable as we look with hope toward the next generation. It’s incredibly exciting to know that the Lord is working through families to raise up young men and women who will take a courageous stand for Christ and faithfully shine His light in a society that desperately needs to see the Church living out the Gospel.

Your efforts to bring help, healing, and encouragement to families support a staff of caring counselors who are trained and equipped to speak with people dealing with a wide array of complex problems. Every day, this dedicated team of counselors provides a listening ear, compassionate understanding, prayer, and practical suggestions for those navigating various crises.

In some cases, as the testimonial below reveals, some people are even led to a saving relationship with Christ:

A young man in his 20s spoke with a Focus counselor, explaining that he had been through some significant challenges, including his parents’ divorce. He wasn’t sure if he had ever become a genuine Christian, but his desire was to follow the Lord. The counselor shared with the young man what it means to come to a saving faith, and the young man indicated his readiness to accept the Lord. The counselor led the young man in prayer as he placed His faith in Christ and trust Him as Lord and Savior. The man wants to grow in his Christian walk and plans to find a mentoring relationship to help guide him toward that end.

In an era when the culture would have us believe that broken, dysfunctional families are simply a sad yet inevitable fact of life, you are helping to demonstrate that the Lord is mightily at work in the lives of husbands, wives, and children all over the world. As a direct result of your efforts, marriages are being saved, children are being raised and nurtured according to biblical principles, preborn babies are being spared from abortion, individuals are being empowered to exercise wise and impactful citizenship within their communities, and the Gospel is going out far and wide.
