Imagine if some defector from the defense ministry of a hostile nation — let’s say, jihadi Iran or Communist China — handed us their plans, lock, stock, and barrel. But rather than nuclear weapons, we saw that our enemies were planning to fight us with water pistols and pop guns, Nerf bullets and paper airplanes.
Of course we’d be skeptical at first, since it would seem like a joke. But imagine (stay with me here) that we really could prove those military plans were authentic, and our enemies were so foolish, so deluded, that they were putting confidence in a raft full of toys and pranks. How would we react?
Would we be outraged, appalled, even frightened? Would we expose those plans in public and demand that the hostile nation disarm? Would we decide that those weapons must hold some secret potential and ramp up our side in an “arms” race, outproducing Whoopie cushions and rubber chickens to close the “novelties gap”?
For all the flaws in our military/industrial complex, I have to conclude that we wouldn’t do that. We’d snicker to ourselves and be grateful that our enemies were such idiots.
With this hypothetical in mind, I’d like you to ask yourself why the Left is so obsessed with shutting down Christian prayer — not just here, but throughout the ex-Christian West. Why should secular people who believe that we’re random side effects of genetic mutations and the survival of the fittest who vanish into oblivion when we die care a fig that Christians are praying to our “imaginary” deity?
Why Ban Prayer If It’s Powerless?
And care they do, enough to pervert the law in multiple Western countries that allegedly protect both free speech and religious liberty. The government of New South Wales, Australia, has just made clear that it’s illegal for Christians to pray with or for someone who’s struggling with same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria, and could land them up to five years in prison. Here’s the NSW attorney general making that clear under questioning from a member of parliament:

In Great Britain, people have been arrested and jailed for standing near an abortion facility because they admitted to police that they were silently praying for women to keep their babies. Lifenews reported:
A woman arrested twice for silently praying outside an abortion clinic, who received a GBP13,000 payout in acknowledgement of her unjust treatment, is now being investigated for silently praying outside an abortion clinic for a third time.
West Midlands Police have previously arrested Director of the March For Life UK, Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, twice for silently praying outside an abortion clinic in Birmingham but subsequently apologised and gave the GBP13,000 payout. However, Vaughan-Spruce is now being investigated for a third time, with West Midlands Police asking prosecutors if there is enough evidence to charge the pro-life volunteer.
Responding to the news, Vaughan-Spruce said “Despite being fully vindicated multiple times after being wrongfully arrested for my thoughts, it’s unbelievable that two and a half years later, I am still being harassed by police for silently praying in that area, and yet again find myself under investigation for the same prayers I have said for twenty years”.
Now, we haven’t had such arrests in the U.S. — yet. Our First Amendment protection of the “free exercise of religion” (not the mere “freedom of worship” the Obama administration inserted in U.S. citizenship tests) still stands unchallenged by most courts.
But Christian counseling that helps a person who’s desperate to diminish or change his sexual impulses is illegal in California, and similar legislation is moving forward in several states. Washington tried to intrude on the Catholic sacrament of confession, stripping it of its essential confidentiality. As we’ve been reporting here, thousands of Americans celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk for defending Christian beliefs concerning abortion, the Sexual Revolution, and transgenderism.
And there’s more direct proof that secular leftists really do hate and fear Christian prayer: Why else do they so aggressively mock and try to shame people for praying after a mass shooting, like the transgender terror attack on Catholic schoolchildren praying at Mass? “Thoughts and prayers,” they sneer, are useless. The mayor of Minneapolis, whose constituents were attacked, sounded like a Roman soldier mocking Christ on the cross, all but saying, “Where is your God now?”
Loser Minneapolis Mayor, who knelt before the golden casket of George Floyd, immediately runs in front of a camera after Catholic school children are killed and tells us that our prayers for the victims of the shooting mean nothing.

Why is the Left so eager to ban even moments of silence in public schools, where children who already believe might silently pray if they choose? How is that an unconstitutional “establishment of religion”? Who could it possibly harm?
The Spirits Controlling Them Know the Power of Prayer, and Fear It
Well that’s the question, isn’t it? When we’re investigating a crime or conspiracy, we ask ourselves, “Cui bono?” (Who benefits?) Let’s flip that on its head and ask who actually is harmed by sincere Christian prayer. The answer isn’t “nobody.” If you think that, you’re a fool.
In fact, some of the most powerful created spirits in the universe are harmed. Their plans for us are thwarted, their dominion over us challenged. The prince of the powers of the air sees in each prayer to Jesus an act of treason and rebellion, and like any earthly tyrant tries to suppress it. Contrarily, when enemies of Donald Trump cast “hexes” on him and leftist pop stars include occult imagery in their music and their shows, they are performing acts of “patriotism.”
So every time you see a leftist defend Muslim or Hindu religious expressions but crack down on Christian worship, realize what you’re witnessing. It’s not just “double standards” or even masochistic White Guilt. It’s not just aversion to traditional Christian morals that trouble the postmodern conscience. Those are superficial phenomena, the shiny scarf a magician waves to enable his sleight of hand.
No, the spirits that mentor the secular left and progressive Christians are seared, scalded, and appalled by genuine Christian prayer — like vampires in old-time movies confronted by a crucifix. So the spirits pull on their strings and their puppets dance in obedience, calling in the bayonets of the state to crack down on the dangerous practice of Christians calling on Christ.
It really is dangerous. But to whom?
