Don’t want to use your family finances to pay for elective surgery so someone can mutilate their perfectly healthy body to try and become someone they are not and can never be? Well, according to new guidance released in the UK from the Crown Prosecution Services (CPS), if that’s you, you may be a “domestic abuser.” But the guidance gets worse.
Reportedly, the CPS “has listed nine types of behaviour which could amount to abuse of trans or non-binary people by their partners or members of their family.” These behaviors include:
- “‘Withholding money for transitioning,’ which would include either spouse refusing to pay for gender surgery, counselling or other treatment in a way that amounted to coercive control or abuse.”
- “Criticising the victim for not being ‘a real man/woman’ if they have not undergone reassignment surgery.”
- “‘Threatening or sharing pre-transition images,’”
- “Refusing to use their preferred name or pronoun” (emphasis added).
Yes, even merely refusing to use a person’s preferred name or pronouns could be considered domestic abuse by the British government! As a Christian who believes God’s Word (and science!), understands that God has made us either male or female (and that a man cannot become a woman and a woman cannot become a man because sex and gender are synonyms—not separate things), and knows that only God defines gender, and therefore you will not lie to or for someone—well, that Christian belief is now considered abusive!
People cannot change their genetics; regardless of what others claim, someone with a Y sex chromosome will always be a male.
As Christians, we should always remember that God’s Word is true and will long outlast the gender madness of our day that is leaving mutilated, broken individuals in its wake.
As sexual humanism continues to dominate the West, we will continue to see astonishingly bad legislation such as this guidance weaponized against those who stand for truth and refuse to live or speak a lie. So what is the answer? The truth of God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ changes hearts and lives and gives those who turn to Christ a new identity rooted in Christ and what he’s done for us. And as Christians, we should always remember that God’s Word is true and will long outlast the gender madness of our day that is leaving mutilated, broken individuals in its wake.
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever” (Isaiah 40:8).
