Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse lets de-transitioner Walt Heyer tell his story. He had it all: married to a beautiful woman, father of two wonderful children, a worker on the Apollo space mission. He was a high-ranking employee at a big tech firm. But Walt had a deep, dark secret that he had kept from everyone for as long as he could remember: He was a secret cross dresser. From the time he was 13, he had an alternate persona: Crystal West. He would act out as a transvestite at home secretly and continued his confused gender role-play as a married man.

In the 1980s, he sought help from the best “gender specialists” and was prescribed the protocol now being imposed on thousands of children. He was given hormones, male-to-female surgeries, and had his legal documentation changed to represent his new name: Laura Jensen. It brought him euphoria and relief — for a while. Then it all came crashing down.

Since recovering his God-given biology, Heyer has campaigned for everyone impacted by transgender ideology to find healing.
